Full O Bull Subs & Pizza near Nees Avenue and First Street has posted flyers recently that indicate a growing frustration over Fresno’s shelter-in-place orders.
The first flyer focused on the media and the next one took clear aim at City Hall.
On the Fresno Covid-19 Resources Facebook page, some accounts are siding with the business. Others say they’ll take their business elsewhere.
(The original Full O Bull shop in Old Town Clovis is under separate ownership and strongly criticized the flyer posted at the Fresno store.)

Flyer No. 1

The first flyer stated: “As required we are posting this sign to remind you that due to the COVID-19 media driven panic (you are) require(d) to stay 6 feet away from each other.”
(The statement has been edited for clarification.)

The person who originally posted this picture on Facebook, Kyle Bishop Roush wrote, “It’s so close to where I live that I’d stop in there and get sandwiches or a take and bake every once in awhile, but that’s over with now.”
Another person in that same post came to the defense of the restaurant saying, “They’re being honest.”

Flyer No. 2

The second flyer generated quite a bit of attention online.
“As required by the morons that run our city we are posting this sign to remind you that due to the media driven panic of COVID-19 you are required to stay 6 feet away from each other. Please stay on the red x or don’t, we don’t care but you have been warned about the Kung-Flu!”.

GV Wire called “Full O Bull Subs and Pizza.” The person who answered the phone immediately hung up after the reporter started to ask about the flyers.
Dong Ngyuen commented on Facebook, “Thanks for the post, it’s being shared in the Asian community right now.”
Angel Tapia wrote, “This is a kick in the face to all us healthcare worker scared knowing how serious it is… I’ll spread the word to my co-workers.”
Gail Swanson added, “Please note that this is the Fresno (1st and Nees) Location.” There is a Clovis location that is not affiliated with the Fresno location.
Soon after, the Clovis store posted a scathing rebuke on their Facebook page criticizing the Fresno shop’s action.

Good for them! They can have an opinion. Its America! If you dont like it eat some where else. I will make a point to eat there from now on. I have never eaten there before but I am now. Most people I know will support that business. Biggest draw is that sensitive politically correct whiners wont be there.

To everyone saying good for them having an opinion , I wonder if you also defended the NFL players who took a knee with the same conviction and vigor 🙂

No, no you won’t because you don’t live in the area. But good try. I like my food handlers to understand disease transmission and basic hygiene.

My friend, this is simply about not spreading a disease that’s already killed 50,000 people in just over a month. Wanting business owners – especially food service workers – to get on board with super-basic measures that will prevent people from getting sick and overwhelming our medical facilities has nothing to do with political correctness. It’s a public safety issue; it’s about caring about the people around us.
Also, you might want to consider this: if the owners of this place don’t care in the slightest about spreading killer diseases around, what do you reckon the chances are of them washing their hands and not touching their faces while they make the sandwich that you’re so looking forward to putting in your mouth?
I guess if you’re gonna make a point of eating there, all I can do is wish you good luck. You’re gonna need it!

Haha wow you really are ignorant and downright stupid. Go outside and get infected then since you probably think this is all a Democrat hoax, you can even pass the virus on to your friends and family along the way… how generous! But don’t come crawling to the hospital begging for medical help once your lungs have given up and you’re left gasping for air like a fish out of water. Idiotic buffoon.

If you applaud them just for having an opinion, you should also be applauding everyone else for having an opinion.
Sounds like you just agree with their opinion but don’t have the guts to say so.

You moron. it’s not about being politically correct. its about compromising the lives of others due to a deadly, contagious virus. Additionally, referring to the global pandemic as kung flu is racially charged, which goes beyond “politically correct.”, Im sure this place disregards health recommendations like social distancing along with other things like washing hands and healthy food practices. So yes, i hope you do eat there, Troy. Might facilitate darwin’s theory. God bless.

It’s not an opinion to suggest that people don’t have to follow the highly effective social distancing guidelines set forth by state and local mandates. (There’s obviously no sense trying to discuss with you the other problems with this sign because you’ve made your ignorance clear.)
With so many businesses and lives being affected by COVID-19, it’s surprising that a restaurant owner would put politics before community. You’d think they’d welcome any customer who was willing to choose this sub shop as a place to spend their money. Then again, people who hold opinions like this generally aren’t recognized for their intelligence.

They are right – its time to open back up. Killing the economy for a virus ten times less lethal than the flu is beyond stupid. Its been in CA since Nov of 2019 possibly sooner. If you’re afraid- stay home but let everyone else return back to work…

I must say, a figure of speech that Fresno has come along way. Since it’s very Conservative days, and it’s not Liberal like the Million population of the bigger cities. Truly were no Metropolis Mayberry, but when it comes to politicians. We have our share of miss guided voters on both sides. Politicians too, but it’s our way of life. So they say?

Well come to new york and see the people dying and suffering and maybe they would think twice about putting a sign like that up. I’m originally from Fresno but now live on long island since 2008 and I’m ashamed to see a sign like that from my home town.

Yeah, how moronic of our city leaders to be listening to scientists in the middle of a pandemic. Why aren’t they taking their critical public safety guidance from pizza shop managers instead?
Do MAGA conspiracists not even believe in six-foot distancing now? How do people who oppose these ordinances account for the fact that California has one of the lowest per-capita covid death rates in the nation, despite one of the earliest US outbreaks occurring in the Bay? I’m guessing these types don’t spend a lot of time accounting for much of anything, except maybe pepperoni slices.
Also I feel like GV Wire buried the lede a bit here in regard to the racial slur. That seems like a more headline-worthy detail than calling politicians morons, especially in a city with a large Asian population. For context: “Kung-flu” is a phrase that first got attention after a Trump aide used it when speaking to a reporter, around the same time the president began calling it the “Chinese virus.” It’s an example of how racism originating in the White House can trickle all the way down to run-of-the-mill racists in North Fresno.

Do not be offended if you are Asian, this is only against the Communist Regime that could care less about human life As far as the local politicians go, they’ve never had this much power, they’re politicians not smart individuals trying to make sound business decisions.
